Dr. Floyd Nolen Jones, Th.D., Ph.D., whose seminal work, The Chronology of the Old Testament: A Return to the Basics (with charts) has become the standard reference on the subject.
Other publications include: The Chronology of The Life of Christ, a harmony of the four Gospels with Chronological Compendium; The Persian Problem, an in-depth academic work addressing many biblical problems relating to the Neo-Babylonian and Persian kings of the fifth and sixth centuries BC.
In addition to books in defense of the traditional biblical text that expose the soft underbelly latent in textual criticism theory. The Septuagint: A Critical Analysis is a defense of the Hebrew Masoretic Text for the Old Testament, Which Version Is The Bible and Ripped Out of the Bible are a defense of the historical New Testament text, referred to as the Textus Receptus (Latin: "received text"), being understood to mean, “the text as received from the LORD.”
Dr. Jones is currently working on his Apples of Gold Collection, a series of brief apologetics clarifying apparent errors in the Word of God which some believe discredit its authority. His works are committed to honoring the verbal and plenary inspiration and providential preservation of the copy of Holy Scripture as authentical, handed-down to us by the saints in the unsurpassed English translation of the King James Bible of 1611.
Conjugating verbs at 5 and reading sophomore university level at 8, he entered high school at 12, college at 16 and at the top of his class in science and math. At 21, began his doctoral dissertation research in Geology specializing in paleontology, and selected to chair the University of Missouri (Columbia) paleontology department the following year by the then retiring chairman, Dr. Maurice G. Mehl, the world's leading authority in his field, Dr. Raymond Peck, Chairman of the Geology Department and Dr. Elmer Ellis, President of the University.
Having attained a Ph.D. as well as a Th.D., Dr. Jones majored in the disciplines of geology, chemistry, mathematics, theology, education and 25 hours in physics from six institutions of higher learning and graduated Magna cum laude. Dr. Jones twice served as Adjunct Professor at Continental Bible College in Brussels, Belgium, and was Chairman of the Department of Biblical Chronology at Pacific International University. The recipient of three National Science Foundation scholarships (Auburn University and University of Texas), he was honored in Outstanding Young Men of America (1971).
Following a 14-year professional career during which he held varying positions of responsibility as Paleontologist, Geophysicist, District Geophysicist, Geophysical Manager, and Regional Geophysicist with Texaco and Tenneco respectively, Dr. Jones was selected to attend Division Manager School shortly before resigning from his scientific vocation in 1974 to pursue Biblical studies.
He was ordained in the Southern Baptist Convention and through his study of the Bible, came to reject the claims of evolution in which he was indoctrinated and had himself taught. Dr. Jones is currently engaged in ongoing biblical research and the teaching of God's infallible Word. He and his wife, as well as their children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, reside in Texas.
