In his Science and the Bible teaching Dr. Jones addresses the issue of the inerrancy of the copy of the Word of God. Here's an overview entitled, "How We Know The Bible Is True."
There are three attacks upon the integrity of the Holy Scriptures from pseudo-science (false knowledge — 1 Timothy 6:20; i.e. false science):
1. Textual criticism — attacks the textual basis of the original text of the Word of God (and therefore the copy).2. Evolution — attacks the plain, literal reading of Genesis 1 (i.e. BioLogos). A. Darwinism theorizes the evolution of man; B. Astrophysics theorizes the evolution of the universe.3. Chronology — attacks the dating contained in the Word of God.
Evolution contains presentations on Darwinism and Astrophysics, its two heads. Darwinism promotes the evolution of man while Astrophysics, the evolution of the universe. The former attacks the Word of God from the earth and the latter from the heavens. Both attacks rely on the same false science of great spans to support evolution. Darwinism requires great ages and Astrophysics great distances to overthrow the Word of God.
Astrophysics represents the citadel of science (i.e. Einstein, the Theory of Relativity, etc.). By dethroning the false claims of science contained in Astrophysics, a deadly blow is dealt to the credibility of the prejudiced assertions also contained in Darwinism, Chronology, and Textual Criticism. If Astrophysics, with its level of peer review, is demonstrated to be biased, then the claim of objectivity by other scientific authorities using false knowledge in their attacks upon the Word of God is brought into question as to their neutrality; and rightfully so.
Due to their lack of faith, combined with the misrepresentations of false science, some are so intimated they're willing to yield Holy Scripture, like the plain, literal reading of Genesis 1; BioLogos being an example. A presentation on Textual criticism does not help in this instance, since it only addresses the symptom; it is analogous to picking the fruit, while one on Astrophysics attacks the root in exposing the error caused by its bias to evolution, thus demolishing the stronghold of credibility from which pseudoscience attacks the Word of God.
The presentation provides the believer a clear choice of who they are going to believe, the Word of God or man. It continues to Darwinism to 'mop-up' the debris created by this psuedo-science, then to Textual Criticism and Chronology to rebuild the foundation and walls of the faith of the saints in the authenticity and authority of the Word of God, as being 100% pure: inerrant. "The words of the LORD are pure words: as silver tried in a furnace of earth, purified seven times. Thou shalt keep them, O LORD, thou shalt preserve them from this generation forever" (Psalms 12:6-7).
